Welcome to Constable Country, where the past meets the present at our village inn.
In the heart of Dedham, The Sun Inn has been a watering hole for villagers and resting post for travellers for centuries. And these days, it's much the same, an ideal spot to revive yourself be it with a pint of craft beer, a meal using fine East Anglian produce or a good night's sleep.
Welcome to the Sun Inn.
Independently owned and run since 2003, you'll be looked after by a well-established team of professional individuals.
With that rare blend of informality and know how, we're here to make you happy, be hospitable. A grasp of what's important and what's not, nothing fussy just simple attention to detail.
A proper bar and an open dining room, a snug oak panelled longue and three open fires, exposed timbers, thick beams and meandering floors, it’s easy to be cossetted in this ancient inn. In the shadow of St Mary’s Church tower, a terrace to admire our Elizabethan staircase, a walled garden to let kids and dogs loose, to sit back and ponder a route to the cottage of Willy Lot.
